Bulgarian public gas supplier Bulgargaz said that it has chosen UK-based oil and gas company Shell as the winner in a tender for the delivery of 1 million MWh of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the U.S. in May.

Serbia is dissatisfied with a revised proposal from MOL regarding the future operation of the country's sole refinery, as the Hungarian oil company seeks to acquire the Russian-held majority stake in U.S.-sanctioned NIS, which owns and operates the facility, energy minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said on Wednesday.

North Macedonia's electricity supplier EVN Macedonia, part of Austrian energy group EVN, said it has commissioned the country’s largest licenced battery energy storage system (BESS) with an installed power capacity of 10 MW and storage capacity of 20 MWh.

Gas and electricity provider E.ON Energie Romania, a subsidiary of German utility group E.ON, said on Tuesday that it plans to invest around 120 million euro ($141 million) over the next five years to expand its local energy solutions business.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) said it has launched new investments worth 253 million euro ($297 million) in support of several healthcare, railways, energy security and private sector resilience projects in Montenegro, thus planning to triple its funding to the country this year compared to 2025.
