Albania's finance ministry on Wednesday sold 3.4 billion leks ($41.8 million/35.8 million euro) worth of fixed-rate Treasury notes maturing in 2028, above target, the central bank said.

The Albanian Road Authority said on Wednesday it has launched a tender worth 1.3 billion euro ($16.15 million/13.8 million euro) for upgrades on a motorway linking the capital Tirana to the port city of Durres.

Albania's government has agreed with all eleven local banks to ease access of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to 250 million euro ($292.65 million) in loans, backed by 30 million euro in government guarantees, prime minister Edi Rama said on Wednesday.

Southeast Europe (SEE) is well positioned to step up and increase the scale of its defence production, supported by its strong gross domestic product (GDP) growth in recent years and its longstanding tradition in manufacturing, the country manager for ING Bank Bulgaria and ING Bank Austria, Marina Kobakova, said on Tuesday.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) on Tuesday said it signed a 20 million euro ($23.5 million) loan agreement with the Albanian arm of Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo for on-lending to local small and medium-sized enterprises to support investment in innovation, digitalization, climate action and environmental sustainability.
