Today’s NBA Player Props: CJ Accepting Requests

The new NBA week begins with a light schedule. Even though there are only four games on the board, there is plenty of NBA player props betting value in the market. Check out our latest picks and get in on the action.

Gordon Hayward will look to capitalize on his increased playing time against the Pistons tonight. Julius Randle has been a matchup nightmare for the Celtics this season. And CJ McCollum should let it rip against the Magic tonight.

Props for today’s best NBA players

Minutes secretary

The Charlotte Hornets are having a disappointing season. However, they are not as bad as the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons are 15-46 on the season and in a tank mode, having gone 3-13 in their last 16 games. The decline in play is most noticeable on the defensive end of the floor. The Pistons’ defensive numbers are dismal. They rank 28th in defensive efficiency, 28th in opponent field goal percentage, and second in points allowed per game.

That means there should be opportunities for scoring for a Hornets team that ranks third in field goal attempts per game. Gordon Hayward is my favorite player to back in this matchup to score some points.

Gordon Hayward

Let’s take advantage of the fact that the Hornets’ small forward is fully healthy (for the time being). This season, Hayward is averaging 14.5 points on 47% shooting. But, as previously stated, he is healthy again, and some of his teammates aren’t, so he is averaging 32.4 minutes per game over the last five games.

Those extra minutes have helped him rediscover his shooting form. During that time, Hayward has shot 58.3% from the field, including 57.1% from 3-point range. And he’s scored at least 21 points in four of those five games.

Over 16.5 points for Hayward looks like a good bet tonight against the Pistons.

Randle will not be handled

The New York Knicks have won five straight games, and Julius Randle is a big reason for that. He’ll have to keep doing that if the Knicks are to continue their winning streak against the conference-leading Boston Celtics.

 Julius Randle

Over the last six games, Randle has averaged 29.7 points on 50.4% shooting, including 40% from beyond the arc. He’s also been a significant matchup issue for the Celtics this season.

Randle scored 29 points on 10-of-19 (52.6%) shooting against the Celtics on Nov. 5 and followed that up with a 37-point performance on 13-for-25 (52% shooting) at TD Garden on Jan. 26.

In the last two games, Joel Embiid and Myles Turner have each scored 40 points against the Celtics. Randle’s point total for this game is set at 25.5, and he has gone Over four times in the last six games. If you’re looking to place NBA online betting, I’d like him to do it again tonight.

NBA Player Props | Bells of Pels

The New Orleans Pelicans are losing ground in a season that began with a lot of promise. The Pels, who were once the top team in the Western Conference, are now just a half-game out of the final play-in spot.

New Orleans needs to win soon, and a game against the Orlando Magic on Monday night could do the trick.

The Magic are 25-36 this season, and it appears that Paolo Banchero has hit a rookie wall. The Magic also have some perimeter issues. Orlando allows the second most 3-point attempts per game and the third most makes. CJ McCollum steps in.

NBA Player Props | Paolo Banchero

The Pelicans’ shooting guard is coming off a poor shooting performance against the New York Knicks, going 6-for-19, including 1-of-9 (11.1%) from 3-point range. However, McCollum is one of the most consistent shooters in the NBA.

This season, he’s hit 38.2% of his long-range attempts. Prior to his poor shooting performance against the Knicks, McCollum had shot 39.4% in his previous five games, hitting three or more threes four times.

Against this Magic team, McCollum should have plenty of chances to find his shooting rhythm. And I’m rooting for him to succeed.
